Lead Coach, Kids Sports and Young Adult Sports @ the Embarcadero YMCA

I have volunteered as a Coach with KEEN San Francisco almost since its inception in 2006. I joined the Coaches Committee to provide leadership of KEEN SF's coaches and to new and existing programs. I enjoy volunteering at KEEN SF and building relationships with developmentally disabled youth. It’s inspiring to be part of the progress our Athletes make with their physical coordination and social interactions. I keep coming back to volunteer with KEEN SF because it’s a rewarding experience to see the youth evolve their skills, but most of all to laugh and smile with them, especially knowing that their day-to-day environments are generally so sheltered and structured.

In addition to KEEN, I also volunteer at other non-profits that focus on youth: I co-host a monthly Crafts Night at Ronald McDonald House at Stanford, where I work on arts & crafts with seriously ill kids and their families. I also mentor a 13-year-old foster youth through CASA of San Mateo County.

My day job is as a marketing manager at Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto. I reside in San Francisco. My hobbies include eating and running.

Sabrina Hao

Sabrina Hao is a senior at San Francisco University High School and has been working with KEEN since 2013.  She began volunteering at KEEN’s University High School location but, during the 2014-2015 school year, realized that there was a need for KEEN in Marin.  She helped facilitate the expansion and worked with the Board of Directors to create and find a location for the Marin branch, which is currently held at Marin Country Day School.
Sabrina enjoys working with kids and believes that every child, no matter what difficulties s/he may face, should have the opportunity to reach his/her full potential and that everyone should have equal access to education.  She loves KEEN because she admires each athlete’s courage, love, enthusiasm, and passion and truly believes that it is an amazing experience to watch them grow.  For the past two summers, Sabrina has also worked at Summer Bridge, a six-week, kindergarten-prep program for children who have not had the opportunity to attend preschool, where she teaches four and five-year-old children.  When not working with kids, she is captain of her high school’s varsity tennis team, captain of the fencing team, Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook, and Sports Editor of her school newspaper.
